Extra Bases: Santana regrets confrontation with fan
DennisSantana was seen taking a swing at a fan in the stands near the visiting bullpen during a confrontation at Comerica Park tonight. This video was captured by a fan in attendance:
Santana confirmed the incident occurred around the seventh inning of Game 2 of today's doubleheader. Santana didn't go into specifics, but said the fan crossed the line a few times prior to the altercation.
“You guys know me and I’m a calm-demeanored type of person," Santana said via interpreter and major-league coach StephenMorales. "I’ve never had any issues with any of the teams that I’ve played for. ... They crossed the line too many times. It doesn’t justify my actions, but it was too much.”
